KAY'S PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp. water
3 tsp. baking soda
3 c. raw peanuts
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Use iron skillet and wooden spoon

Mix sugar, syrup, water, salt, and peanuts together. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook slowly until peanuts split open and candy will be light caramel color. Will have fine thread when holding spoon up from pan. Remove from heat. Work fast now. Add vanilla and butter; mix in. Now work rapidly. Add your soda. Mix until forms up then pour out onto lightly buttered cookie sheet. DO NOT spread out. Leave alone. Cool Whip. Break in pieces.
