APPLE DUMPLING DESSERT 
1 1/2 c. chopped apples
1 c. raisins
1 pkg. applesauce or spice cake mix
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. sour cream
3 eggs
2 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 pt. heavy cream, whipped with 1 tbsp. powdered sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of 9 x 13 pan. Spread apples and raisins over bottom of pan. In a large bowl combine cake mix, 1/2 cup water, butter, sour cream, and eggs. Beat at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Spoon batter evenly over fruit in pan.

In a small saucepan heat 2 cups water and brown sugar to boiling. Pour slowly over batter. Bake 40-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm, inverted with dollop of whipped cream. Refrigerate leftovers.
