RAISIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 cup raisins
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup mayonnaise*
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Place raisins in a bowl, Cover with boiling water; let stand for 5 minutes. Drain well and set aside. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in mayonnaise and vanilla. Combine flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips, walnuts and raisins. Drop by level tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 375°F for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.

Yield: about 7 dozen.

*Cooks Note: Light or fat free mayonnaise may not be substituted for regular mayonnaise.
