FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 c. salad oil
1/2 c. sweet milk
2 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 c. chopped nuts
3 c. chopped raw apples
1 tsp. cinnamon

Prepare apples and set aside. Mix oil, sugar, and eggs, beat until creamy. Sift flour, salt, soda, and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture. Fold in apples and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes in 9 x 13 inch greased and floured pan. Leave in pan to cool. Put icing on while cake is still hot in pan.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. evaporated milk
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
Confectioners' sugar

Mix butter, salt, milk and brown sugar in saucepan. Heat lightly to melt butter. Add mix until sugar dissolves, add enough confectioners' sugar to spreading consistency.
