GRANDMA'S APPLE NUT CAKE 
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 c. pecans
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
3 c. thinly sliced apples
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix flour, soda, and salt; set aside. Mix all other ingredients until creamy, then add flour mixture. Pour into greased and floured Bundt or loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes in loaf pan or 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours in Bundt pan. (Use toothpick test to determine if cake is done.)

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 c. brown sugar

Combine and boil in small pan for 2 1/2 minutes, then beat and pour on cold cake. Should set up like a caramel crust.
