MEAT MARINADE 
1 1/2 c. salad oil
3/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. vinegar
2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
2/3 c. lemon juice
1 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. minced garlic (optional)

For steaks the oil is the best. For chicken, use water rather than oil for less calories. Combine all ingredients in a glass jar. May be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator, covered, until used. Marinate meat fully covered 4 hours or longer. Broil on grill to desired doneness.

HOMEMADE BAKING MIX:

9 c. flour
2 c. shortening
1 tbsp. salt
5 tbsp. baking powder

Mix all the above ingredients together and store in airtight container. Use as you would any commercial baking mix for pancakes, waffles, dumplings, etc.
