PEAR AND CURRANT CRISP 
4 c. sliced pears
1 c. currants
1 c. crushed cornflakes (flour or Bisquick can be used)
1 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. melted butter
1 c. nuts, optional

Place pears and currants in shallow baking dish with 1/2 cup water. Thoroughly mix the next six ingredients. Spread mixture over pears and bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven until top is brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
