FRESH APPLE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. oil
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
3 c. diced apples
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together sugar, oil and eggs, one at a time. Sift soda, salt and flour. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture; beat well. Add apples, nuts, coconut and vanilla. Bake at 325 degrees in greased bundt pan for 1 hour 20 minutes.

Do not open oven door until time lapsed. Melt 1 stick butter and add 1 1/2 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped nuts to make topping. Pour over cake while it is still warm.
