AUNT MARY'S BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES | |
4 qts. sliced cucumber 6 med. onions, sliced (white) 2 green peppers, sliced 1/3 c. coarse salt Mix. Cover with ice. Let stand 3 hours. Drain thoroughly. Heat: 4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed 2 tbsp. mustard seed 3 c. cider vinegar Drop in vegetables and heat to simmering (low boil). Pour in hot, sterile jars. Seal. |
