AU GRATIN POTATOES 
1 1/2 lb. white potatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1-1 1/2 c. half & half
1/3 c. fresh grated Parmesan cheese
2-4 tbsp. butter

Boil unpeeled potatoes until half done (until a fork inserts into potatoes approximately 1/4 of thickness). Cool completely in refrigerator, peel and grate. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add salt and pepper.

Fill lightly greased 9 inch square baking dish or a 1 1/2 quart glass casserole with potatoes. Add half & half until it almost covers potatoes; top with Parmesan cheese. Dot the top with pats of butter. Bake 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crusty.
