PEAR COBBLER 
3 lbs. fresh pears (about 6 c. sliced)
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice

TOPPING:

1 c. buttermilk pancake mix
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. butter, melted

Heat oven to 375 degrees. For base - peel and slice pears. Toss lightly with brown sugar and lemon juice. Place in square baking pan or dish (9 inch).

For topping, combine pancake mix, brown sugar and nutmeg. Stir in egg until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over pear base. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake in preheated oven (375) 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
