PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY BARS
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. chunky peanut butter
2 egg whites, slightly beaten
1 c. grape jelly

Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in large bowl. Cut in butter and peanut butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in egg whites, mixing well until flour is moistened.

Press half of the dough into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Spread grape jelly over dough. Crumble remaining half of dough over jelly.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until crumbs are firm and dry. Let cool, then cut into bars. These cookies freeze well and are low in cholesterol. Makes 2 dozen bars.
