BRAISED SHORT RIBS OF BEEF 
2 to 3 lbs. beef, short ribs
1/4 c. seasoned flour
1 onion, sliced
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. ketchup
1/2 c. water

Dredge each piece of beef with seasoned flour, brown in a little fat in skillet. Remove to a casserole. Add remaining ingredients to drippings in the skillet, stirring until well blended. Pour over meat. Cover and roast in a moderate 350 degree oven for 2 hours.
