NUT FILLING FOR FRAN SALSAVAGE
SWEET DOUGH RECIPE
 
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 lb. ground walnuts
1 (7 oz.) pkg. angel flake coconut
1 egg

Mix above ingredients in pot to simmer a few minutes. Let cool. Roll out sweet dough (1 ball). Fill with nut roll mixture. Roll back up. Place on greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg.

Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until light brown. After baked, cool on rack, brush with butter. Cover with foil. May be frozen.

SWEET DOUGH FOR NUT OR POPPY SEED ROLL:

5 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
4 eggs
8 tsp. baking powder
10 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix sugar, eggs, butter, add to the rest of ingredients. Mix together well. Divide into 5 or 6 balls.
