“ENGLISH PASTIES” IS IN:

ENGLISH PASTIES 
Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup raw carrots
1 cup raw potatoes
1/2 cup swedes or rutabaga (optional)
1/2 cup chopped onions
3/4 pound raw sirloin steak, 1/2" cubes
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic and/or onion powder (optional)

Roll rich pie crust as for pie. Cut square and cover half of it with the above ingredients which have been diced and mixed. Sprinkle a few drops of water over all and fold over other half of crust to cover.

Pinch edges together well, making a double fold or using a pie crimping tool. Pierce tiny holes into upper crust with a fork to allow steam to escape.

Bake in a preheated 400°F oven on a baking sheet sprayed with non-stick spray or brushed with olive oil.

Bake for about 60 minutes or until golden brown along edges.

Makes 2 large or 4 small pasties.
