For a new twist on bologna. Try a bologna gourmet sandwich.

Spread two slices of bread with Miracle Whip Salad Dressing. Add a slice of bologna and one slice of American cheese in between your slices of bread. Cut in half and place on a cooking sheet. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes. You have a gourmet toasted sandwich that is yummy! Enjoy!

Gee, I didn't know it was so hard to make a bologna sandwich, seems like I'm smarter that I realized. I've been doing it all my life without a recipe, thanks. I love it with mustard, but its also good with mayo.

Growing up with a fun dad, he always made us "Dad Specials" and that consisted of: bread, a little dab of peanut butter on the bread, then mayo on top of peanut butter, bologna, cheese (if desired), then eat. It sounds disgusting, but it is absolutely wonderful!!! Now we call it "Grandpa's Special" because the grandkids love it, too!

So, if you add the cheese, can it be a different nationality or does it have to be American Cheese? I'm puzzled as to difference between Swiss Cheese or American Cheese. What is American Cheese. Is it similar to fumunda cheese? You know, down fum unda...

This has to be the best recipe ever!!!! I was doing it all wrong.

I put the bologna on the plate, added bread and mustard, then put another slice of bologna on top.......no wonder my hands were always greasy after eating my bologna sandwiches.

Thank you,
No more greasy hands!!!!

Try this when "cooking" for a crowd: After you put on the second piece of bread, put another slice of bologna on top, spread mustard on that bologna, top it with another piece of bread, then more bologna, mustard, bread, bologna, etc., until you have used the entire loaf of bread. Pour your milk, then clean up, then HAVE A PARTY!!!

On Sundays we would always stop at the local deli and buy fresh Kaiser rolls & a lb. of bologna. As soon as we got home we would grab the rolls and butter them. Then we would slather on the mustard and add 2 slices of bologna and chow down on our wonderful sandwiches. When all was cleaned up, then we would finally get out of our Sunday finery and relax for the rest of the day.

My mom asks my dad to make bologna salad at lest once a month. It's bologna ground up on the KitchenAid food grinder, plus Miracle Whip, pickle relish and black pepper. It's pretty good broiled on bread with a little cheese. I love bologna sandwiches with Miracle Whip and crispy iceberg lettuce on either bakery white or wheat bread.
