1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1 1/2 c. sugar

Cream together. Add 3 beaten egg yolks. Mix well. 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 2 tbsp. buttermilk 4 c. English walnuts, chopped 1 lb. dates, chopped

Mix well and drop by teaspoon on baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
