GERMAN POTATO DUMPLINGS
(KARTOFFEL KLOSSE)
 
2 cups mashed potatoes
2/3 cup flour
3/4 tsp. salt
Few grains pepper
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. minced onion
1/8 tsp. mace
1 egg

Combine potatoes, flour, salt, pepper, butter, onion and mace.

Beat egg, add. Shape into balls; drop on hot stew or fricassee. Cover tightly and cook 8 minutes without removing cover.

Serve with any kind of stew or just plain gravy.
