SWEET POTATO PICKLES 
1 gallon sm. green tomatoes, sliced thin
1 qt. vinegar
3 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. whole cloves
2 sticks cinnamon

Boil tomatoes in salt water 1 minute, then drain very dry. Boil sugar, vinegar and spices, 1/2 hour. Pour over tomatoes and let stand 4 days. Drain very dry. Boil the drained syrup mixture until thick, then pour over tomatoes. You do not have to seal. Can be put in stone jar.
