MY VERSION OF BLACK FOREST CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 can red ruby cherry pie filling
1 (12 oz.) Cool Whip

I bake the cake in 2 cookie sheets. Let cool. Cut into small squares, approximately 1 1/2 inches. Next arrange cake squares in bottom of large clear glass bowl. Spoon on first layer of cake squares 1/2 of Cool Whip. Spoon on cherry pie filling. Another layer of cake squares and top with remaining Cool Whip. Makes a very large cake. These recipes are both very good for potlucks.

I usually make the traditional four layer cake with kirsch - delicious, but time consuming. This was fast, easy and everyone loved it. It's pretty too.
