BAKED APPLE DISH 
3 to 4 apples
Water
butter
Flour
Sugar
Cinnamon

In a buttered baking dish, place enough sliced apples to make it half full. Sprinkle with salt and cinnamon.

TOPPING:

1 stick of butter
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. water

Mix butter, sugar and flour as for a crumb topping. Sprinkle over apples. Pour 1/4 cup water back and forth over mixture. Bake at 350 degrees until apples are tender.

Variation: Use 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar in topping instead of all white. Nuts can also be added to the topping.
