MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE | |
1 gal. milk 1 c. sugar Pinch of salt Cinnamon sticks, to taste 1 tbsp. Masa Harina (corn) 1/2 c. powdered chocolate (Quik) 5 sqs. Mexican chocolate (popular) Boil cinnamon sticks in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Add milk and sugar, bring to a boil. Add chocolate and cook for 10 minutes at low heat. Dissolve the "masa (corn flour) harina" in 1/2 cup of water. Add this to the boiling chocolate mixture. Evaporated milk may be substituted for whole fresh milk. To each 12 ounce can of evaporated milk, add 2 or 3 cans of water (depending on taste). |
