NANA COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. mashed, ripe bananas (2 to 3)
1 3/4 c. rolled oats
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Sift together first 6 ingredients in mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Add eggs, banana, rolled oats, chocolate pieces. Mix until thoroughly blended. Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes (or until cookies are done). Remove from pan immediately. Yield: 3 dozen cookies.
