CHERRY DATE HOLIDAY BALLS 
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sugar
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla & almond extract
3 doz. Maraschino cherries

Combine egg, sugar, nuts, dates, extracts and salt. Turn into a buttered pan (8-inch). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring mixture thoroughly every 10 minutes. Remove from oven, stir well; cool. Shape mixture around cherries and form into small balls. Roll in confectioners sugar.
