COCONUT BALLS 
1 c. dates, cut up
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg, well beaten
2 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut

Combine dates, sugar, egg in a bain marie. Cook over low heat 6 minutes (about) or cook until is melted. Take off stove, add Rice Krispies, walnuts, vanilla and salt. (Not cold.) Roll into balls and roll in coconut. Yield: 24 balls.
