NO BAKE COCONUT BALLS 
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 lb. dates, chopped
4 c. Rice Krispies
Flaked coconut

Mix first 4 ingredients and simmer 6-8 minutes. Add Rice Krispies. Mix well. Make into small balls and roll in coconut.

Great recipe sans eggs! Only thing I changed was to freeze the coconut. After cooking the date mixture until ready to drop, spread the frozen coconut in baking pan, on parchment paper, then spread the fruit mixture over the coconut. Spread another thin layer of coconut over all. Voila! Took nearly 5 minutes to make the balls, instead of the usual length of time.
