AUNT KATHERINE'S CHOCOLATE CAKE 
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. buttermilk
1 recipe marshmallow frosting

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat, then add buttermilk, flour, salt, baking soda. Last, you add melted chocolate and vanilla. Put in 3 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Yields 16 servings.

Delicious with marshmallow frosting.
