OLE' VIRGINIA POUND CAKE 
3 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. lemon extract

Cream butter and sugar together well. Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Mix dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Combine wet ingredients in another bowl. Add dry and wet ingredients alternately, beating well after each addition.

Bake in a tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cake to cool in the pan before removing.
