1 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tbsp. salt 1 pkg. yeast 1 c. scalded milk 1 c. boiling water 6 c. flour Mix butter, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Pour scalded milk and water on solution. Cool to lukewarm. Put yeast in quarter cup of warm water. Then add to other. Add 3 cups flour and mix well. Add other 2 cups of flour and mix well. Use last cup of flour to knead. Let rise until double. Cut down with a knife, knead again, let rise. Drop in grease. Cook until golden brown on both sides. |
