FRIED PIZZA DOUGH 
4 c. flour
4 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. warm water
2 pkgs. yeast, dissolved together with the 1/2 c. warm water
2 c. warm water

Use a bowl with cover. Combine liquids, add flour, shortening and salt. Mix well. Grease top of dough lightly. Put in bowl and cover. Let air out of bowl every 15-20 minutes. Let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Shape dough with fingers. Put in hot grease and fry until golden brown.

This recipe works well in my deep fryer @ 375°F because of their smaller size. I add in a slice of pepperoni and a mozzarella cube sometimes. Other times I will make it sweet(cinnamon and sugar) or I will make some other savory variety. Thank you for this recipe which is a perfect foundation for an endless variety of deep fried dough-balls.
