PORK CHOPS AND SCALLOPED
POTATOES
 
6 pork chops
1 tbsp. oil
5 c. sliced peeled raw potatoes
6 (1 oz.) slices American cheese
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of celery soup
1 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chopped onion

Brown chops on 1 side in hot oil. Place 1/2 of potatoes in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Top potatoes with cheese slices, add remaining potatoes. Place pork chops brown side up on potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Saute' onions in drippings until tender but not brown, add soup and milk. Heat and pour over pork chops. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove cover and bake an additional 30 minutes uncovered. Makes 6 servings.
