PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH GREEN BEANS | |
3 strips bacon fried and crumbled 1 sm. onion, sliced 1 can water chestnuts, sliced 1 lb. cut green beans 2 tsp. corn starch 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. brown sugar Brown onion and chestnuts in bacon fat. Drain beans, saving 1/2 cup liquid. Mix liquid with remaining ingredients and add to onions in skillet; cook, stirring until mixture boils. Add beans and heat thoroughly. Serve with bacon. |
