POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 stick butter
3 c. sugar
5 large eggs
3 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon or almond flavoring

Blend butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and lemon or almond flavoring. Then add flour alternately with milk. Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan. Put in cold oven and turn heat to 325°F.

Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until done.
