CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS DEVINE | |
1 chicken in water to cover 1 med. onion, diced 5 lg. stalks celery, diced (use leaves in middle of stalk) 1 cube butter 1 tsp. garlic powder 4 chicken bouillon cubes or 1 can chicken broth Salt and pepper to taste Boil chicken, onion, celery, butter, bouillon, garlic powder, salt and pepper 45 minutes, or until chicken is done. Remove chicken from pot and strip meat off of bones and put back in broth mixture. DUMPLINGS: 2 c. Bisquick 2/3 c. milk Mix together until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling stew. Cook uncovered over low heat 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer. |
