APPLE QUICK BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. grated peeled apples
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2/3 c. walnuts
1 tbsp. grated lemon peel

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in apples. Sift together the dry ingredients and blend into the creamed mixture. Add nuts and lemon peel.

Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 50 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes.

Remove from pan and cool. Wrap in foil to store.
