BUTTERSCOTCH RAISIN BARS 
1/4 c. butter
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Melt butter in small saucepan. Mix in sugar to blend. Remove from heat. Beat egg and vanilla.

In large bowl, combine raisins and nuts, also flour, salt and baking powder; toss thoroughly. Add butter mixture and blend. Grease an 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until brown and set. Makes 12 bars.
