ICICLE PICKLE 
Cucumbers
1 lg. onion, sliced
1 tsp. celery seed to each qt. jar

BRINE:

3 pts. vinegar
1 pt. water
3/4 c. salt
3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. alum

Slice cucumbers lengthwise; put in jar. Cover with 1 slice of onion. Add celery seed. Bring brine to boil and cover cukes in the jar. Ready to eat in 1 week. Makes about 10 quarts.
