SUGAR COOKIES WITH VANILLA
BUTTER FROSTING
 
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream butter, add sugar, gradually creaming until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to above mixture. Chill overnight. Roll dough and cut. (Add flour as needed).

Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.

Vanilla Butter Frosting:

1/2 cup soft butter
3 cups confectioners sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
about 6 teaspoon milk

Blend butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth.
