BEEF CANTONESE | |
1/4 c. soy sauce 1/4 c. cooking sherry 2 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 2 lb. beef chuck, cut in 1/2 inch cubes 1 1/2 c. water 2 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. cold water Mix soy sauce, sherry, sugar and cinnamon. Marinate beef in soy mixture 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add 1 1/2 cups of water, simmer covered (don't boil) 1 hour, or until tender. Blend cornstarch and cold water; add to meat mixture. Cook and stir until mixture thickens. Serve over rice. |
