FRESH APPLE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
4 c. raw apples
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped pecans

Use Granny Smith apples.

Bake in Bundt pan. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Stir together and mix well. Blend in apples and nuts.

Bake 45 minutes at 350°F. Cool on a paper bag, this holds moisture.
