STUFFED MUSHROOMS | |
1 lb. med. mushrooms (3 dozen) 3 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. thyme 1/4 tsp. turmeric 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. butter Heat oven to 350 degrees. Wash, trim and dry mushrooms. Remove stems; chop to make 1/3 cup. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in skillet. Cook stems, green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except mushroom caps and 1 tablespoon butter. Melt butter in 9 x 12 pan. Fill caps with stuffing. Place filled side up in pan. Bake 15 minutes. Set oven to broil and broil 2 minutes. |
