DANISH "AEBLEKAGE" 
2 c. fine Zwieback or fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. applesauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. sugar

Add the sugar to the crumbs and brown them in the butter. Stir constantly as they burn easily. Add the salt, lemon juice and cinnamon to the applesauce. Layer the crumbs and applesauce; top with sweetened whipped cream and decorate with bits of red jelly. Serves 6 to 8.
