DANISH APPLE PUDDING | |
7 apples, pared and sliced 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. grated lemon rind 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. water 1/4 tsp. salt 3 c. soft bread crumbs 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 1 c. chopped walnuts Whipping cream Place first 7 ingredients in a saucepan (apples, sugar, butter, lemon juice, lemon rind, water, and salt). Cook apples until tender, 13 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients except cream, blend with pastry blender, place alternate layers of this mixture and apple mixture in a 2-quart greased casserole dish, having on top a layer of the crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and serve with whipped cream. |
