ITALIAN STYLE CROUTONS
3 tbsp. unsalted butter
3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp. each sage and thyme
3 tbsp. parsley
3 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
pinch of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
5 slices day-old white bread, cubed

Combine all ingredients except bread and parsley in a blender or food processor. When smooth, add the parsley and pulse only until coarsely chopped.

Cut bread into cubes. Toss bread cubes in a bowl with the oil mixture.

Arrange in a single layer on an oiled baking sheet and bake at 275°F until browned, turning several times.

Use on salads as you would croutons. These bread cubes are particularly good in a bocconcini and ripe tomato salad.

Italian Style Croutons

Awesome croutons and soooo simple to make! In fact, we ate several plain as they came out of the oven! lol

Easy, simple, and tasty as heck in a salad! The best part too is that they aren't hard as rocks like most store bought croutons. They are crispy, do stay crispy in your salad, but you can actually bite into them without breaking your tooth lol!
