DANISH APPLE SQUARES | |
1 c. butter 1/2 tsp. salt 2 3/4 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar Mix these above ingredients together to make the pie dough. Beat 2 egg yolks and add milk. To make a cupful, mix and let set awhile. FILLING: Peel and slice about 8 to 10 apples. Make in jelly roll pan or larger. Cut dough in half. Roll out and place in pan. Add the apples, 1 cup sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon. Crumble 1 cup corn flakes over the mixture. Place second half of dough over apples. Beat 2 egg whites and spread over the dough. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost when cool, using a plain thin icing. |
