1 head lettuce
1 c. celery, diced
1/2 c. bell pepper, diced
4 boiled eggs, sliced
1 med. onion, diced
1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed
1 sm. can water chestnuts
2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
4 oz. cheddar cheese, grated
8 slices bacon

Tear up lettuce and put in large serving dish (casserole type). Layer all ingredients in the order they are listed. Mix mayonnaise and sugar together and spread onto salad. Top with grated cheese and fried bacon, crumble on top.
