BUTTER NUT COOKIES 
2 sticks butter
1 c. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Gradually add flour and salt; and blend well. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Make small balls (about 1 good rounded teaspoon of the batter). Dip a small glass in sugar and press cookie batter to about 1/4" thick. Top with a piece of walnut. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in a 325 degree oven or until edges are light brown.
