QUICK OVEN SAUERBRATEN 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak or bottom round, cubed
2 cubes beef bouillon and 2 c. hot water
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 bay leaf

Brown meat in 2 tablespoons butter. Add onions and continue browning. Remove from burner. Add rest of ingredients. Place in covered casserole in 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from oven, take out bay leaf. Thicken gravy, serve over noodles.

Turns out quite delicious, but I've found that substituting rice for the pasta takes the flavor on better and it's a more rib-sticking meal. Use 2 cups rice and add cooked rice to the finished meat when you bring it out of the oven after thickening the sauce.
I've done this now many times, always with rave reviews.
