CHOP SUEY 
2 lbs. beef, cubed
3 tbsp. shortening
1 c. onion, chopped
2 c. celery, chopped
1 can chop suey vegetables
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. cold water

Melt shortening in Dutch oven; add meat and brown. Add onion, celery, hot water, and salt; cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; cook for 5 more minutes. Mix cornstarch and cold water. Add to chop suey. Cook until liquid is thickened.
