CHINESE CHEWS 
3/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift into bowl flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in dates and nuts. Add eggs. Spread in a well-greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch pan. This is difficult to spread. Start at one end and go to other end. Fill in middle. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut in squares while still warm and roll in confectioners' sugar.
